I also feel like a lot of parenting strategies stemmed from preventing teenagers from making mistakes as they tried to assert independence, which is throwing a lot of parents for a loop when kids choose to stay at home and not engage with their peers.

The teenage years are supposed to be the years where people learn how to be an independent adult and society has robbed them from the ability to learn.

Before Luigi, people who violently lashed out at the system usually targeted colleagues as a way to express frustration or disenfranchised groups as a way to mark a difference in social standing. Generally, these people have been criticized by the public and rightfully so.

Now, there is a target for this group of people that will get praise by the public at large and it is freaking them out. At worst, they expected that the event would be treated as a murder. That Luigi is being celebrated as a folk hero means the next violent gun man is far more likely to target them.

You have a section of America that wants more manufacturing to return to the US, and they see tarrifs as a way to make more production domestic. Those people haven’t thought through that that will cause a lot of inflation and will heavily impact a lot of the manufacturing industry that the US still has.

Trump’s only benefit during COVID was recognizing that getting the vaccine faster was worth paying a higher price for it.
