  • You should read about the Frontier days in America after the Louisiana Purchase. Might I suggest the testimony of Dee Harkey?

Harkey continued, “Each person pretty much enforced the laws as he understood them. If the strong imposed his gun on the weak, or became ruthless in his dealings with his fellow man, there was always the posse.”

Were the majority of the posses which lynched accused men justified in their actions?

“Regardless of how men are tried, except by God alone, there are possibilities of mistakes. Those people who had to dish out punishment themselves instead of having someone dish it out for them, as is done today after sentence is pronounced, were usually pretty sure of the guilt before the punishment. Naturally, the formed posses were never considered a means to an end. They were just about as unpopular with the law as the lawless.”

  • Well, because things in practice are often different than the extreme end of the definition, and I’m arguing because I enjoy it and it exposes me to other perspectives. Like how you see no benefit to anarchy tells me about your lived expieriences and/or how you would plan to act in an anarchal society.

Also, social contracts are enforced in anarchy, just not by an entity emposed by a governing body. I’d say social contracts are more worthwhile when they flourish without the need for enforcement. E.g. people watching what they say in public around children. You won’t get arrested for swearing until it’s “disturbing the peace”.

  • Ok. That makes more sense. Thank you for expounding.

Yeah, I absolutely agree with the portrayal of anything political to be overblown. I visited Portland for the first time a few months ago to see an old friends and expierience what the city was like with my own eyes.

Ofc, there hasn’t been any tanks or marching en mass in DC, but they so have weapons and I did see a Humvee or two in my search. Idk who thinks of it as a North Korea style regime.

Trump is not all powerful, but seems to dodge every consequence to his actions and has encouaged setting up concentrations camps while also deporting actual citizens. I don’t know whether I consider him more Fascist or just the dictator for the Money Oligarchy, but you are correct that resistance does work against the policies/plans where in full fascism it wouldn’t. It’s a shame that definitions are so free-form now by intent and sabotage.

And as to random protest images, here is one of my very favorites in solidarity.

  • Bruh. You’re mad. Like, really mad. Makes me think you aren’t thinking clearly. Even if it’s “just a photo op” there are livestreams and plenty of photos of National Guard troops in DC. I found some from 2 days ago, and 2 weeks ago with a quick search.

Yes, this is also a distraction like most everything else has been. No, the sensationalist news media is not fully trustworthy. Yes, there are armed National Guard troops in Washington DC. No, having some people say they haven’t seen guards does not disprove their existence.

My question to you is, what makes you deny their existance so hard? Do you honestly believe publicity stunts don’t have an impact even as just stunts?
