  • This comes up a lot. While Swift might not be able to control concert ticket prices as a whole, she certainly has the influence to make it better. She’s a literal billionaire with a very devout following.

If anyone could hold a concert at a non-ticketmaster venue, it’s her.

If anyone could pay her staff quintuple the going rate, it’s her.

If anyone could lobby cities that hold her concerts accountable for how they treat homeless people, it’s her.

I love Taylor Swift as much as the next person, but she has blood on her hands just like every billionaire. She may be one of the “good” ones but if anyone could afford to do better, it’s her.

  • I remember the cast of Friends wanted to stop after season 8 I think.

Then they got offered $1 million per episode along with residuals.

It’s not just corporations that want to keep things going. The actors actually “unionized” (so they all got paid the same amount) and agreed that they wouldn’t continue the show unless they all wanted to.

How I Met Your Mother got to the point that Jason Segal wanted to leave. The last season was just awful and you could tell that he was phoning it in.

  • We’re entering a phase of unprecedented government distrust. Right now, we have barely a safety net but at least it sometimes worked.

Now, we have politicians (not experts) deciding whether medicine is good or not. Each state, hell, each DOCTOR will need to decide if a treatment is good for you or not and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Imagine these politicians completely denying any vaccine approvals. Even if your doctor wants to vaccinate you, they literally can’t.

So many MAGA hats have benefitted from the protection of their government and are now going to see the consequences of their actions and were all going to pay that price.

  • Live there for you. Its your house. Make it your personal retreat from the world, and set it up how you like it. Don’t worry about resale until it’s actually time to sell.

One additional thing I’ll add: make “nice” repairs, e.g. things that you normally repair when you’re about to sell the house (e.g. wobbly toilet paper dispenser, crooked trim, etc.) as your budget and time allow. These things add up when you’re selling and you’ll regret not having your place look nice when you lived there.

These are nice weekend projects and often help you learn basic home repair.
