I only knew snippets of this as well even years later so I appreciate the rundown. Thanks for typing it up!

Heck yes man SPT made me fall in love with that game again. Amazing work by their community.

Escape from Duckov is arguable as it’s single player, as well. I’ll have to check out Zero Sievert.

I bought a $500 dollar video security system and they pulled this shit on me. Not Google, but Arlo. Not even a ‘hey we will just disable some of the cloud benefits’ just straight up disabled my shit and gave me a shitty ‘heres 10 percent off a new system!’ email. I don’t buy into smart always connected tech much as is, but that was def a reason for me to not buy anything further.

Yup I was thinking of another game, you’re absolutely correct.

The Cycle yes, but an extraction shooter is defined as a game you loot items that you then extract with to use in future runs or sell. Hunt and Helldivers doesn’t have that mechanic at all.
Yeah I’m in agreement here as well. As someone going in blind though you tend to pass judgement based on what you first see. In the age of streaming most people are going to start on S01E01. I definitely get your point.

‘One of the biggest’ You mean ‘one of the only’? Extraction shooters aren’t common that I’m aware of unless I’m out of the loop. The only big one before this I was aware of was Tarkov.
God so accurate on Schitt’s. A friend recommended that show and when me and the wife got past epi 1 we were like ‘wow this is hot garbage’. Yeah no, just setting up and showing you how horrible they were initially which I think makes their transformations that much more impactful later in the show.
The new age Evil Dead movies are some of my favorites. Definitely underappreciated I feel like.

Lots of off topic comment threads so I don’t mind adding my own: going to make the Linux dive here soon and just had a general question on VR. I recently got a mostlySteam setup (sensors / controllers) with a Vive Pro 2 headset. Overall is VR supported? Is it limited to certain headsets? I was thinking of getting a Bigscreen Beyond 2, if that makes a difference. Any info appreciated.
If you’re at all interested in Factory type games I highly recommend Dyson Sphere Project. You start planetside but building / flying around your Dyson Sphere as it’s being constructed is amazing. Also a mention of No Man’s Sky wouldn’t be bad. They’re still releasing content for it, which is crazy at this point.

The world is so fucked I can’t even tell if this is satire at this point, regardless of itlf it’s posted here.
Legitimately one of my faves. Always gets me.
‘Can I get uuuuuhhhh burger and ah literah cola?’ ‘Burger and liter of cola, it’s for a cop’

For the gamers here using Linux: what about Discord? One of my only social outlets currently is unfortunately through Discord with some friends. There any issues with drivers for headsets and/or Discord having issues?
Edit: Thanks for the responses everyone!!
This movie was definitely one of those ‘wtf this has no right being this good’ type movies. I actually enjoyed the hell out of it. Now I feel like I need to go watch it again. Thanks for reminding me that it exists!
Bro I’m with you I’m not even autistic and this shit just seems emotionally exhausting.
