The Billionaire Keeping TikTok on Phones in the U.S.::Financier Jeff Yass made a big bet on the app, and he’s a top donor to lawmakers who support it.
TikTok isn’t like American data harvesting apps.
For Facebook and Snapchat the main data purchasers are Ad companies.(All mainstream social media is complicit in selling data to rival superpowers, I just believe Tik Tok intentionally feeds more harmful content to youth than other platforms) The CCP has party officials on TikTok’s board of directors. The app is designed to force feed an endless stream of toxic behaviors, overstimulating content, low quality journalism and disinformation mixed in with entertainment to the West’s youth in an effort to influence them. They take your data input (what videos you like, what you don’t like, what captivates you, how gullible you are) and create a psychological profile. If you have your camera and mic access on the data they can collect on you increases significantly. The more you use it, the stronger your psychological profile gets. At a certain point, they can start throwing in toxic content that fits your profile to manipulate you mentally. The main goal is to show you content that makes you angry, upset, or distracted to ruin your day. If you use it daily, it can add up. This is why we’re having a national mental health crisis and why grades are slipping in schools.Zuckerberg has been caught illegally selling data to China multiple times in the last decade.
Please tell me more about how Facebook is a better steward of my information.
I’m not saying Facebook is better- I despise Facebook just as much. I always thought of Facebook as the disinformation campaign for older middle Americans and Tik Tok for the youth. It’s kind of mind blowing that they sell anyone’s information to the highest bidder, and the politics of it are just a front. Updated my main comment to reflect this.
The US should not be censoring harmless stuff like this.
Sure, they can make rules for federal employees and using it on their phones and stuff, but they should not for the average citizen.
I am in favor of big tech being regulated in regards to the data they can collect and transparency about the data they collect and what they do with it.
That is really what would solve the problem. Not banning an app.

Like what? What laws have they broken? I believe there were the recent default privacy settings for kids which they fixed 3 years ago .
So what laws and regulations are being broken so consistently that tok needs to be banned.
www.google.com is a website.
I am not Google.
I’m not agreeing with the shittyreddit guy, but this is a toxic response. The onus is on the person stating a claim to provide proof and evidence of the claim, not to make a claim and then tell others to Google it.
🤦

You’ve spent longer typing here than it would have taken on Google to get your answers.
Come on, dude. I’m still not agreeing with the other guy, but you know you’re being toxic. This isn’t cool.
I’m not claiming a new scientific technique here. I’m just referencing publicly known and available information. There’s a world of difference between them. I am not going to give APA citations for the presumption the sky is blue. Stop encouraging laziness. There’s a line between them, and you’re way into the territory of enabling.

Holy fuck, you people just love to get fascist and authoritarian when you don’t like something.
