I read fiction online; be it comic, manga, novel, etc. If it has comment section, there are always people that make comment about the character action or reaction to something and try to apply modern/western norms. Bear in mind that the stories mostly set in old times, eastern country, or fantasy world. I am not condoning all that bad/outdated/misguided action that the character does, but why bother applying modern norm to a period or place that clearly not abiding by that rules. Why?
