BIG BEND, Wis. (WISN) - Five members of a local police department quit on the same day. Those five represent nearly half of the department. The Village of Big Bend announced the resignations on its Facebook page. … Anderson says the Village president’s plan to dissolve the Fire and Police Commission in early December was the last straw for him and the five officers who quit.
It’s funny that these “heroes” can’t even handle public scrutiny. Imagine if nurses quit every time a hospital made bad organizational or budgetary choices. If your job is actually important for a community, you don’t quit it. You can’t quit it. It’s a duty and a responsibility to your fellow man. These cops are quitting over political discourse. If that’s all it takes, sounds like they weren’t doing much to begin with.
And then the crime rate fell
That’s funny, I seem to recall multiple communities throughout history with a surplus of “warriors” finding themselves suddenly plagued by banditry. No correlation, though. Obviously.
The crime rate will stay the same. The only change is five fewer people with immunity.
Yeah because if there’s nobody to report crime to then there’s no crimes! /s
Sure wish they gave more information about led to all this. It’s incredibly vague, and what if I want half of my town’s cops to quit?
🎵whoa, we’re halfway there🎵
The Fire and Police Commission chairman also quit.
Why is this one person running both police and fire, that seems wrong.
I’m the area I worked, fire and police were government funded, while EMS was not.
And nothing of value was lost.
They should be investigated. Surely they were up to something.
Don’t worry. They investigated each other and found no wrongdoing, so that’s all taken care of. Move along.
Well yeah, 5 out of 11 people resigned after they were initially being disbanded and then told nevermind? Not surprising. Doesn’t matter how you feel about the police, that’s not job security anyone would want to stick around for.
