China clings to the “emerging markets” or “developing countries” labels for itself to in gain critical benefits of unequal trade imbalances and lack of regulation. It’s currency is now being used by a handful of countries instead of the USD/EURO. I’m not sure it can claim “emerging markets” or “developing countries” labels itself anymore.
