Trump administration must fund SNAP payments during the shutdown, judges rule

Two federal judges ruled nearly simultaneously on Friday that President Donald Trump’s administration must continue to fund SNAP, the nation’s biggest food aid program, using contingency funds during the government shutdown.

It wasn’t immediately clear how quickly the debit cards that beneficiaries use to buy groceries could be reloaded after the ruling. That process often takes one to two weeks.

Good. Appealing this will force him to take ownership of starving people. He will still lie, but maybe a few more people will see the light.

You can’t just lose hope, especially when things are getting worse and worse by the week.

It does take a long time for anything that the federal government does to actually affect your life or someone you know in a noticeable way. Lots of things might get slightly better or worse, but won’t be directly attributable to government, like policies that affect the economy. Other things might get MUCH better or worse, but only for a few people at a time.

Especially if you’re dumb, these things can be hard to notice. Some people don’t believe us because we’ve been saying the train is coming for a year now and they haven’t seen it. But when they do get hit by it, or they see someone close enough, well… it can start to get through to them.

And we need those few percentage points. It’s important to get people to vote against this shit, assuming we still get to vote at all. Be aware that there’s also levels of cheating in voting. If they do things that suppress the vote by 5%, with the extreme shit they’re doing, we could gain more than 10 points.

Voting still matters. Even if they cheat.

Armed thugs in your city black-bagging people can happen quite suddenly.

I bet half the Trump voters won’t believe it until they see it. Luckily we don’t need all of them.

The bulk of them won’t but there’s a constant little trickle of people realizing it each day

There’s a lot of people who are living in a bubble of lies. Sometimes the truth breaks through. That’s a chance to shatter the right wing media illusion.

If your holding out hope for the MAGA’s to one-day see the light and change their ways, then I urge you to stop. Narcissists and their ilk don’t operate like that.

The truth can break through if it’s big enough.

Not in a time frame that’ll do us any good. Nazi soldiers were dupes too, and we didn’t defeat Nazism by laying some sweet reason on them. To the extent that that happened at all, it was part of the cleanup job after they’d lost by other means.
