China is socialist, the large firms and key industries are publicly owned, and the working class is in control. It’s left wing. They have markets, but that doesn’t make them a “hybrid,” it just means they are at the developing stage of socialism.

The EU is a cabal of imperialist countries. All of the niceties in the EU are founded primarily off the backs of exploiting the global south. Taking a firm stance against imperialism requires that the EU essentially give up its super-profits.
