    The amount of times I saw posts on reddit saying “upvote this so the top Google result is this political meme” despite that being disproved years ago tells me that the average tech literacy of users is abysmal.

    Generally speaking most things that people interact with are black boxes to them. They only know that X output occurs with Y input, they no idea or care about what happens in-between.

      Even before this touch tunes shit, the bar tenders would have some basic control over the machine. Or just simply unplug it if you pulled this kind of shit. And if you kept doing it, they would kick you out of the bar. And/or security or a group of regulars would make sure you had a very unpleasant time, and would not want to come back. What fantasy world do people live in, where they are so out of touch with real world consequences.
