Just another mass shooting, suspect is white male marine veteran so keep an eye on how this is portrayed.
Edited: Marine vet, not army vet.

Nuance matters they’re right.
Is this some kind of inside joke I’m missing?
American military terms.
Navy=Sailor
Army=Soldier
Air Force=Airmen
Marine Corps=Marine
Just out of interest: Don’t you have any “catch-all” word for military personnel? Where I’m from the equivalent of “soldier” it typically used to mean “unspecified military personnel”.
It’s English, so there’s probably a ton of them.
Servicemen is what I would go with. Also military personnel, but that’s too long winded for me
Yes I know that. What I’m trying to understand is what posting a photo has to do with their comment. No one said the word soldier or marine. Are you saying you also do not understand the purpose of their comment?
teft probably did not realize that you were posting an image of the shooter (a marine). I did not realize he was a marine so my post said ARMY. I made a mistake in my original post, it made others confused when you posted a pic of the shooter.
This is it. I read your original posting which called the shooter a soldier and was wondering why a marine was posted. Some people aren’t aware of the difference and as a former soldier i thought i’d correct him in case he didn’t know. I wasn’t aware that that was the shooter.
Ohhh, so it’s your fault. ;)
Yes.
