Man, what the fuck happened to you guys to go so far backwards from where you were in the 1940’s? You’ve become the people this video was warning your past selves about!

I watched this short yesterday, it’s a lovely piece. Most of us weren’t alive in the 1940s. That wasn’t us, it was our grandparents and great grandparents… “the Greatest Generation” of Americans.

We like to take credit for their achievements in WW2 without much thought about the historical context that led to the rise of fascism and tens of millions of deaths in that era.

We’re on track to be remembered as the “Worst Generation” if enough Americans turn out to be suckers.

Tbh “Worst Generation” isn’t nearly as bad as “Last Generation” or “Still Not the Worst Generation”. I’ll take it.

Fascism is a siren song for the simpleminded. Back then, we were fighting foreign fascist powers that dared to attack us, so it was easy to oppose. Most of the people who remember that are dead though, and new generations of simpletons have taken their place.

Watch the video. They were absolutely trying to defend themselves against “American Americans” who blamed everything on the “Negro” and immigrants. I mean, the video 100% talks about what’s going on right now.

I watched it a couple days ago, it resonated with me particularly strongly. The contemporary casual domestic intolerance you’re talking about is why it was easier with a foreign fascist to speak out against.
