This probably isn’t the best place for this but something I want to have been mentioned.

Obviously porn in general is fine, even the more risqué or honestly even unsanitary isn’t really a problem to me. And yes I understand all the women are of legal and there’s verification. But isn’t this still problematic? They’re being sexualized for the reason of looking like they are too young to be sexualized. That seems like a great way to encourage pedophilia. It’s a gross concept, especially given the median age on this platform.

And yes, I’ve blocked it for myself because I’m too old to want to see that when I’m scrolling /all. But I still think it’s a bad message to leave out there.

    Is it problematic that older people get off on people that look like kids? Sure, that’s kinda weird. I see kids in college and it amazes me that other people my age are attracted to them. They look like kids to me and I’m not even 10 years out from undergrad.

    Is it wrong that the community exists on Lemmy? I don’t think so. It’s legal and you’re not going to eliminate the behavior by getting rid of the community.

      Legal =/= good

      Legal =/= not bad

      And no not eliminate, but it would discourage the behavior.

        Right, we agree about legality and morality not necessarily being the same. I disagree that it would really discourage it though.

    Well, being real, the problem with that is overblown.

    Yeah, it’s creepy, and you run into hebephiles using it as sexual material. There’s also enough people that can be a sexual focus for actual pedophiles in the kind of pictures typical on the old r/fauxbait and similar forums (I have no clue if any exist in the fediverse or not).

    But people are bugging out of their fucking minds about the shit. It really isn’t some kind of pervasive problem.

    And, if you start blaming the women in the images for their body, you cross into asshole territory. There’s a reason age verification laws exist for sexualized imagery. You really can’t always tell age by looks, and you shouldn’t be interfering in the acts of other consenting adults.

    It ain’t my thing, but I’m sure as hell not going to claim some kind of moral authority to deny some woman the freedom of her body just because it icks me out that she’s small and young looking. And that’s where it ends up. It’s one of those things where you can’t prevent the hebe and pedo philes from enjoying the material without interfering with the rights of the models.

    And, on a real level, they’re adults. They’re age verified. Anyone viewing such things knows that. So even the hebe-pedo viewers aren’t actually doing anything wrong. They’re using adult sexual material. There is a moral difference there that does matter.

    Does it turn my stomach? Yeah. But that’s simply not a good enough reason to go on the warpath.

    I want to be clear, the way the community is named is not, “look at this sexy young woman” it is, “look at this nude of what looks like a high school girl, isn’t that hot?”

    Also, this is more of cultural problem that needs some societal retraining to fix for real.
