Welcome to fascist france
You’re a fascist, she’s a fascist, he’s a fascist, everyone’s a fascist!
That along with calling everyone Nazi’s got old quick.
No , not everybody is facist but beating peaceful protestor is facism, lack of intentional lack accuntability for police brutality etc is facism.
Ok nazi
France is under pressure to lower a budget deficit that stands at nearly double the European Union’s 3% ceiling, and a debt pile equivalent to 114% of GDP.
Aha! I’ve found the problem!
They need to raise taxes on their wealthiest citizens!
Ooh, that explains why my package from Paris was delayed yesterday. Fair enough, I’m not even mad about it!
There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can’t take part; you can’t even passively take part, and you’ve got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you’ve got to make it stop. And you’ve got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you’re free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!
Block everything needs to sweep across the planet!
Yep, that sounds like France.
Honestly, from what I’ve seen, I actually agree with Macron here. France’s debt is unsustainable, something needs to be done, and nobody wants to do anything. Both Le Penne and Melenchon are calling for policies that will increase the debt burden, yet any attempt to reduce it is getting struck down at the mere thought. A retirement age of 62 in a country with an average life expectency of 82 (and many people living over that) is crazy to me, especially at a time when there are more and more old people compared to working-age people. That isn’t sustainable, but any mention of raising it gets insane backlash. You can’t really raise taxes much more, they’re already high, you can for wealthy people, but that will only go part of the way, and with the new NATO targets, if nothing is done, I feel like France will become another Greece.
Nothing justify sending police to beat protestors https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNfuduZvjwY
What you say just prove you don’t know anything about France and economy globally speaking.
A French citizen.
You can raise taxes for rich people AND remove public founding for enterprises. LFI ( melanchon) proposes these two :
- The “zucman tax” aims to tax the 1800 richest french families at a rate of 2%, Wich would bring 40billion.
- for public founding, a senatorial report showed that 211 billion in tax cuts or direct founding were given ( without any requirements of employment or anything) to enterprises (some of which layer of ppl and gave out dividends while being under public founding). Those could be recalculated.
The “zucman tax” aims to tax the 1800 richest french families at a rate of 2%, Wich would bring 40billion.
2%. 40 BILLION.
This will never not blow my freaking mind. No matter how we illustrate it, it’s still hard to fathom.
Yeah, and it’s 1800 families. It should be noted that the proposal was rejected, deemed infeasible meanwhile our previous PM was saying that we NEED to remove 2 public hollyday…

As long as people with guns and the country’s authority to use violence are just “following orders”, things will never fundamentally change. The Western European man needs to learn discernment and have humanity and virtue as their lives’ priorities, if not for God at least for the wellbeing of their societies. But how do we get there? 😔
Fake democracies
It is not a fake democracy they just voted in an asshole.
Yes an no, Macron was elected against LePen. This in itself is a problem but macron himself said he was “obliged to the left”, then he proceeded to name 7 right wing prime ministers, after his party losing all other non presidential votes. So yes, we voted (reluctantly for some) for him, but he kept wanting to push his policies even after the ppl voted against him several times.
I agree with you that he should resign because he made a mess and does not follow the will of a majority of the French.
But as far as calling France a failed democracy that I do not agree with. A flawed democracy sure, but than again even a good democracy does not protect the people from making choices on flawed information or ignorance.
You’re wrong. It is indeed a fake democracy and many organization, are pointing this.
He lost elections for his government and put 3 Prime Minister from the losing party in a row.
And there are many other things Emmanuel Macron did to attack democracy. Amnesty International pointed the abuse of force use with his violent police, for example.
We are currently in the 5th republic, Wich was created by Charles de Gaulle during the decolonization of Algeria. These times required a concentration of powers to ensure stability, such as constitutional tools allowing to bypass votes in parliament. We are not AT ALL in the same situation as then.
You’re basically proving their point for them. If a wrong election turns your democracy into a police state, then you were not living in a true democracy in the first place. And don’t get me started on a democracy where the same assholes get elected for 40+ years
France is not a police state, I fully agree that the police is way too violent but that is not equal to a police state. France has many problemes but it is still a democracy and they can still vote for change.
We did vote :
Left parties 1st Far right 2nd Right 3rd
Then Macron named 3 Prime Minister from the right party in a row. Vote can change things, you said? Please explain, you seem to know my country so well.
We tried many things : petitions, they are either removed or they say they do not care. Protest, people lost eyes, hands and one person was killed. During protest they took ideas from people, promised to look at them and never did. Then we voted, left won and was never called to form a government.
There is no democracy here. Only an illusion of it. Democracy is not only voting every 5 years.
Oh and not to mention our deputees do not vote because government uses everything it can in the Constitution to pass their unpopular laws through force.
France is not a police state, I fully agree that the police is way too violent but that is not equal to a police state.
No, it is equal
