Also, it isn’t the 4th movie. There have only been two MK movies in the new series with Cole Young as the protagonist Just because you don’t care about it being a reboot doesn’t make you correct, just dumb and stubborn.

it isn’t random. It’s because they retconned the story, so MK1 was named so because it represents a new beginning to a new story/timeline.
It actually makes you look stupid for not catching onto this and thinking the number just represents release order.
