    Nah going to Iraq and Afghanistan is part of what the Guard is for. They’re a component of the US Army that is normally controlled by the states, that’s what allows them to be used by state governors for disaster relief. Active component is federally controlled, full time soldiers. Reserves is federally controlled part time soldiers. The National Guard is state and federally controlled part time soldiers.

      Inasmuch as Iraq II was “a war”, yeah. But it wasn’t. Nobody even knows wtf it actually was today other than a trillion dollar misadventure. Unless you subscribe to the “they stole time machine parts out of the Iraqi museum” or similar goofy theories.
