This project has been around since July of 2022. It’s an alternative interface for Lemmy using phpBB hence «lemmyBB».
I just checked today and the dev archived it last February 2025 and the last commit (besides the archiving and readme) was in 2022.

Just a concerned Fediverse citizen, maybe someone is interested in continuing/forking it. Alternative interfaces used to be popular in the early 00s for mrny projects. But these days, we often see the same frontend, just a different theme/colours.
Who knows, all good things start small and humbly, maybe one day it’ll become popular and in demand.
It’s an interesting project, but NodeBB and Discourse have been working on adding activitypub support, so people who prefer bb style forums will probably use those. I don’t think they integrate that well with lemmy yet, but I think it’s being worked on.
