In case anyone is wondering, it’s rqd2.

The definition of paraphilia is “a condition characterized by abnormal sexual desires, typically involving extreme or dangerous activities.”, which can inclde pedophilia.

It has recieved 4 censures from fediseer due to the content contained on that instance

Not a good look for Lemmy to be promoting any instance like that.

You can see for yourself here

Update: A pull request was sent to remove the sus instance. It should no longer show up soon

That instance list is built completely automatically by a crawler, no one approves instances before they are listed. In this case it was removed as soon as we became aware of it. Next time please make a pull request like that one, its much more effective than complaining.

    Holy fuck.

I was a teacher for a private company at 17. I taught kids aged 6-14. A couple of my students I had occasional intrusive sexual thoughts about.

She was 8, which was way below my AoA of 12+, and she certainly hadn’t started puberty. But she was attractive. She made me nervous, I thought about her everyday, I envisioned what we’d do together–she was just like any crush to me, only instead of an adult, she was a kid. But does that really make a difference? She was a person. What should age have to do with love? Eventually shit happened.

They even call it the pediverse.

Hello! I’m AR15U! I’m the owner of rqd2.net! I’m transgender and transrace, and questioning transage and transabled. I’m a MAP as well

What in the unmitigated fuck is this? How can someone be so ridiculous… transrace? Transage?! Transabled?!! Is this some sort of weird roleplay to make trans people look silly?

Yeah, I think Poe’s Law may be in full effect here. The law basically states that without some sort of signifier that it is parody, it’s impossible to create a parody of an extremist that is so extreme that it’ll never be mistaken as genuine. It was originally applied to fundamentalist Christians, but has since been expanded to pretty much any trolling or extremist viewpoints.

I genuinely hope that it’s a troll trying to make trans people look bad. Because that’s honestly the best-case scenario. The idea of this person actually existing is more gross than the alternative. Because if they actually exist, then it means they’re not just a troll trying to make trans people look bad. It means they’re a goddamned predator who needs to be sequestered away from the rest of society, and should never be allowed near children.

They’re edgy teenagers. They’re hearing adults talk about these horrible trans pedophiles, and they want to rebel against their parents.

What’s horrifying is the amount of pedo apologists on some lemmy instances. They screech that as long as they aren’t touching kids they’re free to be attracted to kids because it’s not hurting anyone. Anyone that looks at a kid and thinks sexual thoughts already crossed a line and should never be allowed access to children or the internet. Horrifying. Pedo is not a sexual orientation.

The person in the quote you’re responding to is saying they actually abused a child and are defending that act. IMO this in particular should be much more harshly condemned; communities of people excusing and telling each other it’s ok to abuse children.

It’s a disgusting, terrible instance. Back when I added them to our blocklist and fediseer they even had pedobear on display as if they were proud. They have a MAP community and Pedo memes.

The link posted by OP has our findings in it with a few of their posts on an archive site for those who don’t want to go to the instance directly: (https://gui.fediseer.com/instances/detail/rqd2.net)

          Its not real language.

Its some bullshit cooked up by internet trolls, and accepted and used by right wing propagandists, as the latest thing to use to try and paint gay people as pedophiles.

When, historically, we know the actual pedophiles are the ones falsely claiming gays are the danger to children.

It’s inclusive of both pedophiles and hebephiles - that is, prepubescent vs. pubescent children.

So, it’s got that going for it. Treating them both the same.

Unfortunately, it’s also used to obfuscate the fact that a MAP is a pedophile/hebephile. Which is bad.

There are people who have messed up brains, who are attracted to kids, and hate themselves for it. They seek help (usually through lots of chemical treatments), and use the term MAP to separate themselves from the pedos. Unfortunately, pedos use the term MAP to hide the fact they’re pedos, so… 🤷

To be fair, it is not politically correct language, actually it’s language that’s commonly frowned upon in all circles. But basically as long as the LGBT rights movements have existed with any level of mainstream visibility in America, there have been organizations like NAMBLA and the like that have been trying to piggyback off of them…

And it pretty much ends the same way, with the pedophiles being shown the door.

Incidentally this is what the early South Park episode about the National Association of Marlon Brando Look Alikes getting mad at NAMBLA (the irl NAtional Man Boy Love Association) for stealing their acronym is poking fun at.

    rqd2.net rule 3:

Nothing illegal under US (specifically Nevada) or local law. You know what that includes. (In case you don’t know what that includes, I mean child pornography [anything that fails the Dost Test], sexually interacting with minors, etc.) We have a zero tolerance policy for anything that fails the Dost test. Anything violating it will result in an immediate ban and removal of images. No admitting to anything that could cause the server to go under investigation, such as looking at child porn.

Unfortunately I have been shown that there is promotion of pedophilia on that site. Although there may not be actually illegal content.

Yes, that part was a bit confusing to me at first, since they already described zero tolerance against anything not adhering to official guidelines Dost Test, which is new to me.

But it makes perfect sense now, they only follow those rules strictly because they must. They would probably love if they could break them if they thought they could get away with it.

When I was shown a link to what they call “MAP”, it very quickly became crystal clear what it was about.

Yeah I’m deleting this app now. I love a nice alternative to reddit, but considering how much unblurred porn bleeds through to my timeline with no provocation, I really don’t want to run the risk of something truely heinous like whatever is associated with this making it to my Frontpage.

That’s how it is. Even on the largest porn instance (lemmynsfw.com), you need to check the box explicitly on the sign up page. (And on the second biggest I know of (pornlemmy.com) there’s a full page consent splash screen before even you can even reach the sign up page.

The thread starter is complaining about posts which should be marked as NSFW, but are not. I personally haven’t noticed any of that, but I mostly stick to “subscribed” views instead of “All”

That’s how Lemmy works already. When you register, the registration page gives the option to enable NSFW - i.e. it is off by default. (At least on lemmy.world and on dbzer0, I haven’t checked other instances but I believe they work the same, except the porn instances.)

You have an account on an instance with a very active admin team. We were even the first one to report this specific instance to the rest of the admins. We didn’t do it in public to not give them any kind of exposure.

As others in this thread have suggested, you can disable NSFW communities completely by disabling the NSFW flag in your user settings.
