Sorry to say to my UK friends, it looks like these people have no manners when it comes to debating. Asking a question and then proceeded to shout over them. I’m surprised they still have viewers.
Epic wanted exclusives by pulling games from other platforms. I will never spend a single cent on Epic Games. I’m happy to spend it on Steam, especially games that I have pirated before (Commandos series for example) or indie games (Banished anyone?).
For bigger games such as Civilians, I’ll purchase it on Steam and then pirate so I don’t need to run Steam. I am a big fan of patches to remove the intro screen.
I pirate because it’s more convenient. No launcher, no update, no DRM, no need to be always online. I still purchase games but still play the pirated version.
What if 5G radio wave is there to push vaccines hidden in sunscreen into our body? /s
Nice, set it as my phone’s wallpaper. Thank you.
Snap is what finally forced me to explore the vast selection of distros. Mint Linux is working well for me. I do miss Plasma Desktop though.
This reminds me to donate to uBlock Origin. The dev does not accept donations though. I can’t imagine a fay without uBlock Origin.
Like someone on lemmy once said: tools like this will make the climate situation worse since people can eat what they want and not have to worry about gaining weight. The drug is certainly going to help a specific group of patients but it’s very likely that it’ll be abused.
If only smart glass is as popular as mobile phones. When Google introduced their smart glass, I dreamt of a day when a price history overlay is displayed when looking at a barcode, like how Keepa is doing for Amazon.
I also like German price display which has effective price, as in Eur per liter for drinks, making it dead simple to compare products. A smart glass will make it available everywhere.
Back to Carrefour, I really like that they are pushing pro consumer actions. However, we all know too well that they won’t do the same when it’s their products which are shrinking. Still better than no action though.

Where did you get the idea that you get to choose?
Russia invasion of Ukraine. They used to be number 2 army with sophisticated weapons. Now they are number 1 world laughing stock with weapons that works exceptionally well for invading Mars but not on earth.
I worked as engineer for 15 years and then management for the last 2 years. The urge to go back to engineering never stop. What keeps me in management is seeing how I can create the environment where engineers are able to do their work.
If I go back to being an engineer, I won’t be able to make sure product requirements are clear, priorities are correct, team members will have a chance to practice skills they don’t get to do at work. At the minimum, protecting my engineers from stupid back to office policies that were enforced just because the CEO felt lonely one day. Would someone who has not worked as an engineer understand the feeling of stairing at the screen for 8 hours not able to start anything due to burnout is the worst feeling ever? Will they hear the grinding wheels when soneone used the wrong term during meetings?
There are just so many things that I can do for MY engineers, exactly what I wanted when I was still an engineer. I don’t trust others to provide that so I take it on myself to do it. Granted, I need support from upper level for this to happen so it’s an important aspect for me when I apply for jobs.
I worked as software engineer and my boss tolerated me going to office at 2pm and leave at 9pm. It’s against company policy, certainly, but no one talked about it. It still is my most productive and happy time.
This study failed to take into consideration the need to feed information to AI. Companies now prioritize feeding information to AI over actually making it usable for humans. Who cares about analyzing the data? Just give it to AI to figure out. Now data cannot be analyzed by humans? Just ask AI. It can’t figure out? Give it more so it can figure it out. Rinse, repeat. This is a race to the bottom where information is useless to humans.
