  • I was on the fence about attending a world cup (it would be my first) when the sleaze has been trying to say it’s “his” for the last year. Since FIFA has been corrupt forever it probably means I won’t be able to enjoy it as much because I’ll be considering what I’d be endorsing. It’s disappointing, I’ve wanted to go to one since I was a kid but considering there will probably be ICE raids in the concourse or psychopaths trying to drive trucks into the crowd to kill the [insert group] I’ll have to forgo it.

    I’m surprised I have heard anything about boycott here–therr was a ton of push for that during Qatar build up around human rights, and nothing for this? I’d hope the US gets boycotted by whole nations ala East German/Russian Olympics.

  • Like the male, white supremist, Idaho sniper that just entrapped and assassinated two unarmed firefighters? You will not hear about white, male violence much.

    "“I don’t know why he did it, and it’s – it’s shocking to me,” said the former classmate Dieter, who didn’t want his last name used publicly. “It’s something that villains do, plain and simple.”

    Dieter described Wess Roley as someone who was unusually outspoken in the strident ways he would defend his views.

    Extremist views in high school

    Dieter claimed Roley was someone who talked about Nazism, who was “very pro-gun,” who spoke of wanting to join the military, who would often make drawings of bombs and military vehicles and who allegedly got in trouble once for drawing swastikas in a textbook."

  • I don’t know what’s so hard to grasp;

    • immigrants are bad because they steal American jobs
    • immigrants are good because exploitative industries can’t run without desperate, no-option workers
    • immigrants are bad because they’re free loaders
    • immigrants are good because they pay far more tax than they collect in benefits, illegal or legal
    • immigrants are bad because they keep American wages down
    • immigrants are good because they keep tech wages down so we should expand the visa programs tech companies lobbied for

    As long as you know to which audience he’s speaking, corporate funders or everyone else, he’s been completely consistent.

  • What about states? Ever had to call unemployment? Lucky enough to be in a US state with paid leave? They are websites that make 1998 1.0 look decent. Their phone trees just dump you when you call them and say they are overloaded. No email, no ticket support online. So no web, phone or email support for those you are beholden to.

    States aren’t trying to turn a profit, what is the incentive to have unemployment and paid leave broken in states that have passed them as law?odt of the states with paid leave tout them and promote how great they are but make the process a gauntlet of cirizen-hating obstacles.

    Looking at you CA, OR and WA.
