This reminds me that I had an interview yesterday and the recruiter wanted me to wear a suit and im desperate enough that I did. Feel like such a corpo rat.
- the last panel hits hard and i’ve wondering where the line is between “corpo rat” and living by my convictions as i ruminate giving up my very comfortable software engineering career for doing IT at this large non-profit, as i watch my life savings shrink. - i suppose it wouldn’t be so bad if the people in control of the non-profit weren’t paying themselves absurdly high salaries while the rest of us have salaries that haven’t been updated since the 1990’s; but then again the impact on the local community is undeniable and the amount of work leaves me free to spend a lot of time on social media while working from home while my former colleagues have to pointlessly report to an office 3 days a week to keep their 401k’s from shrinking further while i watch my pension start its first stages of growth.
- There is no ethical consumption or production under capitalism. - But hey, at least you get to survive in a nightmare world. - yup we both are having a banner existence.
