Hmm.
The people who have the strongest opinions about this movie seem to have the biggest misconceptions about the content.

Daniel Plainview was impolite!
Guess I’ll pass on this movie, I was kind of looking forward to it but yikes
Lol, some random sub stack opinion sways you. Any yahoo, including several Nazis, can put something on sub stack.
Yes? Opinions can sway me. I truly hope you are also swayable.
I had no idea substack existed before this moment and hosts intolerance but that doesn’t subtract from the content of her writing.
And if you had read it you would note that it is the opposite of intolerance.
The Guardian also wrote about the depiction of black women in the film
Don’t give substack blogs clicks. Fucking Nazi platform.
What happened?
So the meat and potatoes of it is back in July Substack sent out a notification to its users to “hey check out this blog”. fair enough, the problem? it was a nazi blog and the notification showed a swastika. Substack then apologized for the “errior” in sending out the push notification and stated they were going to address the issue and ensure it didn’t happen again…It didn’t apologize though for hosting fascist content, that’s fine on Substack.
So that whole thing brought to light that Substack not only has alt-right/facist content but allows it to happen. that’s what people have an issue with. Substack will literally allow you write just about anything.
With Substack repeatedly saying that they won’t remove Nazi content over the years as well.
