Anyone who’s never seen this should… it’s a trip…
This is a great film. The rip I had years ago missed the last like 10 minutes and me and my friends would watch it and had what seemed like hours of debate dissecting it. Finally saw the last scene at some point and we were all so happy we had figured it out. Almost better without the end in some ways :) This movie is awesome though and I agree everyone should watch it
I thought it’d be right down my alley, and then unfortunately found it pretty boring.
I can see that, I didn’t find it that way but I can see how it can be that way.
If you watched it with the dub, it might be worth checking it out with subtitles.
I find that for Perfect Blue specifically, this has a big effect.
Loved black swan and the joker, so I’m bound to enjoy watching their progenitor, right?
The Joker is a bad imitation of King of Comedy (and Joker 2 is contained in the King of Comedy credits). I wouldn’t be surprised if it ripped off other movies; skimming summaries for Perfect Blue it doesn’t seem terribly similar beyond some themes. This thread has piqued my interest in Perfect Blue which sounds pretty rad.
Joker has several scenes lifted directly from black swan, completely cinematographically identical. Black swan did the same to perfect blue, which I always find funny. Their premises also aren’t as dissimilar as you might think. Watched all 3 in a row with family and we had fun noticing the similarities. Don’t watch perfect blue with your parents.
Looking forward to watching Perfect Blue in 4K.
